Thursday, August 27th, 2009: Engines Blank Sacramento, Taylor Winner
The Sacramento Stingers struggled at the plate today against Engines hurler Jack Taylor, who shackled them on 3 hits while hurling a complete game 6-0 shutout.

"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said the Stingers skipper in his postgame comments.

"Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."

Taylor finished the game with 14 strikeouts and 1 walk in an excellent mound performance.

"He pitched real well," his manager said. "Jack made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."

Over the season Taylor has thrown 174.1 innings and dished out 109 strikeouts with a 11-10 mark and a 3.82 ERA.
Sunday, August 23rd, 2009: Season May Be Over for Stingers Seybold
The doctors have spoken and Socks Seybold of the Sacramento Stingers didn't like what he heard. The 30-year-old right fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Seybold sustained his season-ending injury during the Chicago Hitmen game yesterday at Pathfinders Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing the ball. Today the Sacramento medical staff reported Seybold had a herniated disc and would be absent from the lineup for at least 2-3 months.

Currently Seybold has 16 home runs and a .292 batting average.
Monday, August 17th, 2009: Sol White Out for Season
The season is apparently over for Sol White. The Sacramento Stingers medical staff informed the club that the third baseman will be out at least 2-3 months with a torn hamstring. White was hurt in the game against Louisville while running the bases. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.

This year White has 4 home runs and a .321 batting average.
